Soraya’s a semi-final star in Poland

Soraya was one of nine London Academy players competing, wining three of her four group matches in the Under-13 Girls’ Singles.

Soraya Rahmani-Walentynska reached the semi-finals at the WTT Youth Contender Wladyslawowo in Poland on her international debut.

Two more wins brought her to the semi-finals and a tie against second seed and eventual winner, Aleksandra Nawrocka. A loss in straight sets brought an end to Soraya’s excellent run.

Sienna Jetha was a quarter-finalist in the U15 Mixed Doubles, alongside Noah Vitel of France, while Shahuraj Nimse & Alisha Dutta reached the last 32.

Jetha also reached the last 16 of the Under-15 Girls’ Singles. Seeded fifth, she lost out to the 11th seed, from Belgium.

In the U15 Boys’ Singles, Parsa Yamin reached the last 32, going out to the seventh seed from Italy, while Nimse reached the last 64. In the Under-17s, Dutta reached the round of 64 in the girls’ draw.

Zacharia Sarri and Serene Rahmani-Walentynska both won a match in their respective Under-11s campaigns, but went out in the groups.
