The Junior British League displays the highest level of table tennis from all around the UK, and has very prestigious titles to achieve in divisions ranging from The Premier division to division 4. The Premier division is where the top clubs from the UK battle out to determine the best British alliance.

The London Academy girls team truly put out a display of their talent throughout the two weekends in Derby Arena; starting at the bottom of league at number eight, they overcame each and every team they encountered in the first weekend, with a perfect score of 100%. In the fourth round, London Academy demolished the leading team from Kingfisher 6-0, highlighting their strength in the new season. Swedish players Nomin Baasan and Annie Hedlund had finished the first weekend winning all of their 10 individual matches.

The second weekend, although drawing one round out of 5 with Cardiff City, saw London Academy as clear successors of the Premier division title, topping the chart with five points ahead of the now second place Kingfisher. It was Nomin Baasan who continued her winning streak, ending this season’s Junior British League by winning all 20 individual matches.

The 2018-19 season is the first time, after 3 years of hard work, that London Academy have achieved the top title on offer at the Junior British League. We hope that this success continues for years to come and wish the champions luck for the future!
